These do a fair job of keeping the water clear. Unfortunately, in this hard water area they only last around two and a half weeks.
I am happy with the Cat Mate 3 stage filters and both of my indoor cats seem to prefer them since using them. It might be my imagination but the water seems clearer than previous Cat Mate filters.
