Filters, essential consumable!

We have had the fountain several years now, the filters are recommended for replacement monthly but I have found that the filter replacement interval can be extended to quarterly by washing the filter, thereby reducing the plastic waste impact on the environment! Our cat will still use the fountain so it must be ok as she would demand a running tap before we got the fountain, the dog is not a good judge as she will drink from a muddy puddle! 🤣
I do wonder if there could be a refill option for the filters, they are clipped together so it would seem to not present much of a problem to open, empty the contents, wash the cage (we're already washing the rest of the machine) and fit a refill pack for those of us that would like to further reduce our plastic waste.
